Peritonitis
Peritonitis is defined as an infection of the adominal cavity. In accordance with the etiology peritonitis is divided into primary and secondary peritonitis. The treatment of these categories differs conserably where primary peritonitis is predominantly treated by antibiotics and in secondary perintonitis surgical intervention forms the cornerstone of treatment.
Focus
The focus of our study group is on secondary peritonitis, therefore the content of this website solely concentrates on secondary peritonitis.
Goal
This website can provide a platform for up to date evidence in the multidisciplinary treatment of secondary peritonitis. We will provide an insight in the current and past projects and trials performed by our study group.
